New England Actuarial Seminars is your solution to studying for your Validation by Educational Experience (VEE) exams. Candidates seeking to attain membership with the CAS, CIA, and/or SOA are required to complete the VEE requirements for economics, corporate finance, and applied statistics. This is in addition to passing exams and other membership requirements. Most candidates can receive VEE credit by showing that they have successfully completed (grade of B- or better) VEE-approved university or college courses. Actuaries work in life insurance, retirement systems, health benefit systems, financial and investment management and other emerging areas of practice. The majority of actuaries work within the insurance industry, although a growing number of actuaries work in other fields. Actuaries are an important part of the management team of the companies that employ them. Their work requires a combination of strong analytical skills, business knowledge and understanding of human behavior to design and manage programs that control risk.
Spring 2018 registration for Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and Corporate Finance will begin March 19th. We no longer offer Regression and Times Series.
Regression and Time Series have been now been approved until 6/30/18
***** Please note that April 27, 2018 is the final date a candidate can submit their application to the SOA for VEE credit for Regression and Time Series and still receive their ASA under the current curriculum. If a candidate takes the course after this date they can still use it for VEE credit but we cannot guarantee they will make it onto the ASA list before the new curriculum roles out 7/1/2018. This information was given to us by the SOA.
*****Keep in mind that in addition to passing the Regression and Time Series exam you must submit 80% of the assigned homework. You must also submit a project, one for Regression and one for Time Series. Projects can take up to ten days to be reviewed. We suggest you have your HW and Projects to us by April 13, 2018. Once you have completed all of these requirements and your project has been approved, we will issue you a transcript that we will also send to the SOA. You are then responsible for filling out the application for credit that is on the SOA website. This application is what is due by April 28, 2018 in order to get ASA credit for Regression and Time Series.
Corporate Finance is approved until 12/31/2020
Microeconomics and Macroeconomics are approved until 12/31/2020

Exam times are based on 11 am Eastern. Exam day and times can not be changed. (If you reside outside the continental US and Canada, please begin the exam at the start of your business day.)
